Jo Thompson Courtney Hired as CAW Chief Administrative Officer

LITTLE ROCK – Central Arkansas Water (CAW), the state’s largest water utility, announced today that Jo Thompson Courtney has joined as Chief Administrative Officer. She brings nearly 30 years of government and operational experience and will oversee the finance, customer support, information systems, human resources, and communications departments at the utility.

“Jo’s depth of expertise positions her perfectly for this role, and we are confident in her ability to drive innovation, continuous improvement, and fiscal responsibility,” CAW CEO Tad Bohannon, said. “Her exemplary record of servant leadership reflects CAW’s commitment to be a resilient and trusted utility.”

Prior to joining CAW, Courtney was Associate Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer at the Arkansas Department of Health. She also served as Chief Operations Officer at the Arkansas Office of Health Information Technology and held multiple positions at the Arkansas Department of Human Services.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff as well as a Master of Science in Sociology/Research and Statistics from the University of Central Arkansas.

Courtney is an associate minister at Saint Mark Baptist Church, chaplain for the Little Rock Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and a monthly volunteer speaker at the Arkansas State Hospital. She previously served as chairperson for the Little Rock Commission for Children, Youth and Families.
