CAW partners with Promise to offer no-fee payment plans

Announcements

Central Arkansas Water has partnered with Promise to offer customers an easy and convenient way to set up no-fee payment plans for past-due water and sewer charges.

The new program kicked off on Monday, July 3, at https://carkw.promise-pay.com. All CAW residents and businesses that owe $50 or more on their CAW water bill are eligible for the program. Customers who enroll in a payment plan for their outstanding balance will be protected from negative consequences such as penalties, fees, and water service disconnections as long as they stay current on their plan.

“I am excited to partner with Promise and to provide our customers with a more convenient, flexible, and personalized payment experience,” Tad Bohannon, CAW chief executive officer, said. “We want to meet our customers where they’re at, empower them financially, and ensure they continue to receive high-quality water services from us.”

The PromisePay portal will offer users the opportunity to select a payment plan option, set up automatic payments, and provide contact information for payment reminders and other account notifications through text messaging. Both property owners and tenants will be eligible to use the PromisePay portal if they have a past-due balance.

Promise has partnered with utilities in cities across the nation, including Newark, New Jersey; Louisville, Kentucky; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Richmond, Virginia, to offer payment plans to customers and distribute millions of dollars of water bill relief.

“Central Arkansas Water has an impressive track record of demonstrating their commitment to water equity and affordability,” Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins, Promise CEO, said. “This was evident in our successful collaboration with CAW to sign up their residential customers to receive Low Income Household Water Assistance Program funds from the State of Arkansas.”

“Promise is thrilled to continue our partnership with CAW to provide no-fee PromisePay payment plans that will offer the flexibility many customers need to catch up on their water bills.”

The PromisePay portal provides a comprehensive payment platform, which includes:

  • Options to enroll in payment plans online, by mobile phone or call center.
  • Convenient payment types (credit/debit card, ACH, Apple Pay, and Google Pay).
  • Text reminders and notifications.
  • Payment flexibility and plan management with options to request allowable extensions, modify due dates, and change payment methods.
