Central Arkansas Water shall require a cash deposit on all services 1-inch meter or less in size. On services larger than a 1-inch, the developer shall deposit with Central Arkansas Water cash or a bond, from a local bonding company, sufficient in size to cover the service deposit. If the bond is cancelled the customer will be required to post cash deposit within 10 days. On residential accounts only, an automatic bank draft can be accepted in lieu of the deposit. On commercial accounts only, if the bills are consistently running much higher than the scheduled deposit amount, Central Arkansas Water will charge 2.5 times the average bill amount for the deposit.

The minimum deposit required, currently in effect, is as follows:

The rate of deposit may change at any time by the Board of Water Works Commissioners of Central Arkansas Water.

No attempt shall be made to collect deposits on active accounts for which no deposit was required, unless the account’s payment record indicates a deposit is needed to insure payment of the account.

On transfers of accounts, change in ownership, or new accounts the above deposits will be required.
