Lakes, like everything else, can get messy if you do not pay attention and clean them. Lake Maumelle is Central Arkansas’ largest drinking water source and Saturday, October 5th from 9 am – Noon, we need you to come out and help us protect this essential and exceptional waterbody. In partnership with Audubon Arkansas, we will do some trash cleanup as well as learn about water quality, local wildlife, and the importance of Lake Maumelle as a water source for 400,000 individuals throughout the region.
Join us to “spruce up” the area around Lake Maumelle and get a hands-on opportunity to learn about and protect your drinking water supply. You can also explore areas around the lake, view and learn about local wildlife, and become more familiar with water quality issues and what you can do to help keep your water clean. So join us for free food and a fun learning experience for the whole family!
If you are interested in participating, meet your friends from Central Arkansas Water and Audubon Arkansas at Jolly Roger’s Marina on Arkansas Highway 10 at 9 am. Check out the flyer below for more information or contact Uta Meyer at 501.244.2229 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
