LITTLE ROCK — Jackie Callahan, Customer Service Representative for Central Arkansas Water (CAW) and a resident of Alexander, Arkansas, is the third recipient of the water utility’s Crystal Water Drop Award for Employee of the Year.
Graham W. Rich, P.E., BCEE, Chief Executive Officer, presented the award to Callahan, a 20-year employee, at the utility’s Annual Stakeholders Meeting on May 24, 2011, at the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce Building.
In presenting the special honor before a gathering of approximately 170 people, Rich noted that for many customers and fellow employees, Callahan has the heart to go “above and beyond” to assist.
Callahan is a Customer Service Representative at the James T. Harvey Administration Building, the utility’s headquarters. It is a position that she has held for over two decades, and it is a role in which she projects CAW’s qualities of professionalism, teamwork, and excellence.
“Jackie’s smile was one of the first things that welcomed me to the utility four years ago. She always takes time to troubleshoot problems, questions, or concerns. Jackie does an incredible job of making sure our customers know that we care,” Rich says. “She exemplifies our standard of exceptional service.”
“Jackie’s teamwork and willingness to ‘be there’ is expressed in other ways as well,” comments Sheronda Shells, Customer Service Supervisor. “She has volunteered for many events outside of CAW, whenever there is a need for volunteers or just an extra helping hand, you are sure to find Jackie actively participating … she is there when you need her.”
Callahan will celebrate her 21 years of service with Central Arkansas Water in August. She is the proud mother of Madisyn Albert.
Rich says the Crystal Water Drop Award for Employee of the Year, the utility’s annual tradition, is to recognize employees who exemplify the ideals of exceptional service and dedication to the utility’s mission as a public water supplier.
