LITTLE ROCK – Effective at 1:30 p.m. today (Saturday, May 7, 2011), Central Arkansas Water (CAW) lifted a precautionary boil water order that had been in effect for 270 customers west of Chalamont Drive along Highway 10, Ferndale Cut Off Road, all roads feeding off those streets, and Ridgefield Estates in West Pulaski County.
Water quality samples show that water in the pipelines serving the area is safe for consumption. Customers no longer need to boil their tap water before using it for cooking and other consumption purposes.
Customers west of Chalamont Drive along Highway 10, Ferndale Cut Off Road, and all roads feeding off those streets, and Ridgefield Estates had been under a precautionary order since Sunday, May 1. Issuance of the order followed a break and interruption of service from the water main servicing the area.
