NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Graham W. Rich, P.E., BCEE, Chief Executive Officer of Central Arkansas Water (CAW), will present a State of the Utility Address during the utility’s Annual Stakeholders Meeting on Tuesday, May 24, 2011.  The event also will include presentation of the Crystal Water Drop Award for Stakeholder of the Year and Crystal Water Drop Award for Employee of the Year. 

The annual meeting location will be at the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, 100 Main Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas.  The event will open with a reception and refreshments at 9:30 a.m.  The annual meeting, which is open to the public and news media, will convene at 10 a.m. 

During the State of the Utility Address, Rich will update customers, elected officials, and other stakeholders on the utility’s water master planning, strategic planning, effective utility management processes, and a look back on accomplishments over the past decade.  He will discuss the recently-completed Water Utility Master Plan’s findings on the sustainability of existing water sources, LakeMaumelle and LakeWinona; optimization of the current water treatment processes; future water supply and increased treatment capacity needs; and continued regulatory compliance. 

Anthony Kendall, Chair of the CAW Board, will join Rich in presenting the Crystal Water Drop Award for Stakeholder of the Year and Crystal Water Drop Award for Employee of the Year.  The Stakeholder of the Year Award recognizes an individual for outstanding commitment to protection of the metropolitan community’s drinking water supplies, particularly Lake Maumelle, and advancing the goals of watershed and water quality protection.  The Employee of the Year Award honors a CAW employee who exemplifies the ideals of exceptional customer service, water system integrity, and dedication to the utility’s mission as a public water supplier. 

Courtesy parking for the Annual Stakeholders Meeting will be available in the parking lot of the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, the parking lot near the North Little Rock City Services Building between Main Street and east Second Street, the parking lot between west Broadway Street and Main Street, as well as the parking lot between north Poplar Street and north Magnolia Street.
